The digital divide is the gap between those who have education and access to information and communication technologies (ICT) and those that do not. ICT is significant - nearly half of the world's population is excluded from the benefits of ICTs due to poverty. ICTs are proven to be important tools for development providing new opportunities for health, education, communication and economic growth.

dev46 Girls Tech Academy is an official P.R. 1101.1 and U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization bringing equality and equity to our community through IT education and workforce development.
We inspire lasting friendships, build strong interpersonal skills and instill a sense of hope for the future. By implementing a human-centered technology education and training academy, we're building a community where girls have the opportunity to influence and expand their perspectives.
The computer science journey begins in kindergarten. Our students are introduced to the concepts of sequencing and programming creating and sharing programs using movement-based coding language. Students feel like they are just playing and having fun! Whether block-based or text-based coding, we focus on fostering children's natural intuitive abilities.
Representation of women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) varies across job clusters, but Computing (25%) and Engineering (15%) remain in the lowest percentile. By 2025, 3.5 million STEM jobs will need to be filled in the US alone, 2 million jobs will go unfilled despite the focus on STEM.
We are building a future where girls have the opportunity to give technology a try. Through our educational model and a human-centered academy, we bridge the gender gap by removing existing barriers allowing more girls to fall in love with Computing and Technology.
